The article Yoga as a method of psychotherapeutic self-help and its influence on stress resistance of 1st-2nd year medical university students examined the role of yoga in improving mental health and the ability of students to endure stressful situations. Target. To evaluate the influence of yoga on stress resistance of medical university students and increasing the relevance of physical activity such as yoga among students of VSMU named after. N.I. Burdenko. Materials and methods. The study included an analysis of changes in the psycho-emotional state, stress level and overall self-regulation effectiveness of participants after starting regular yoga classes. Using questionnaires and testing, a performance assessment was conducted among first- and second-year medical university students who practiced yoga for nine months. Results. There was a significant increase in stress tolerance and a decrease in anxiety in participants practicing yoga compared to the control group. The results of the presented work allowed us to better understand the connection between the practice of yoga and the level of stress resistance in students, as well as highlight the key aspects of its use as an effective means of self-help and increasing psychological resilience in the educational environment. Conclusions. Based on the results obtained, it can be seen that yoga has a positive effect on students, helping to improve sleep quality, concentration and memory.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>yoga</kwd><kwd>yoga therapy</kwd><kwd>stress</kwd><kwd>stress resistance</kwd><kwd>stress level</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>йога</kwd><kwd>йоготерапия</kwd><kwd>стресс</kwd><kwd>стрессоустойчивость</kwd><kwd>уровень стресса</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front>
<p>Introduction. The article Yoga as a method of psychotherapeutic self-help and its impact on stress resistance of 1st-2nd year medical university students offers consideration of physical activity such as yoga, as well as its impact on the physical and emotional state of students. The work analyzes this activity as a factor in psychotherapeutic self-help and optimization of behavioral and psycho-emotional mechanisms in stressful situations.<br />The purpose of the work is to assess the influence of yoga on stress resistance among students of VSMU IM. N.N. Burdenko<br />Materials and methods of research. To conduct the study, 45 students studying at VSMU were invited. N.N. Burdenko in the 1st and 2nd years of the Faculty of Pediatrics. Participants aged 17-22 years were divided into 2 groups after taking the test: Psychological Stress Scale, PSM-25. Group 1 - control, included 15 students with a low level of stress, they attended physical education classes once a week every week. Group 2 - experimental, included 30 students whose test showed a medium or high level of stress; in addition to their usual physical education classes, they were asked to perform yoga and breathing practice complexes. Obtaining results at all stages was carried out using testing.<br />Research results. Throughout the study, which lasted from May 2023 to February 2024, 5 online tests were conducted showing stress levels and 3 tests in which participants shared the results and described their psychological and emotional state.<br />Online testing was carried out on the basis of the test: Psychological Stress Scale, PSM-25, adapted by N. E. Vodopyanova. The first test took place in early May 2023, when students began pre-exam preparation. It showed that 33% (15 people) had low stress levels, 51% (23 people) had medium levels and 16% (7 people) had high stress levels. Based on its results, the participants were divided into 2 groups. Follow-up tests were administered after the 2023-2024 summer session, at the beginning of the 2023-2024 fall semester, and before and after the 2023-2024 winter session. Each stage showed the state of stress level depending on the load of students. The most favorable result was obtained after the summer holidays, and the most negative result in the two groups was obtained before the start of the winter session.<br />Initially, for group 2, 2 sets of exercises were presented - Hatha Yoga and Jivamukti Yoga, the simplest in their execution and suitable for any level of physical fitness, as well as breathing practice - Ujjayi. During the training period, study participants were required to perform exercises 2-3 times a week, alternating complexes.<br />The second type of testing was carried out to monitor the performance of the exercises and monitor the well-being of the participants.<br />As a result, after the end of the session period, the most important tests were carried out, which showed how yoga affects stress resistance in students. For a more accurate result, a comparison was made of tests that were done after the summer and winter sessions of 2023-2024. The number of participants (group 2) with a high level of stress decreased by a greater percentage than the students of group 1. The final results of the test Psychological Stress Scale, PSM-25, adapted by N. E. Vodopyanova showed that in group 1 there was an increase in the level of stress: a low level remained in 18% (8 people) and in the remaining 15% (7 people ) the level has risen to average. In group 2, improvements were observed: a low level of stress was detected in 9% (4 people), an average level in 53% (24 people), a high level of stress in 5% (2 people). It is worth considering that the results could be influenced not only by the session, but also by other factors.<br />Conclusion. Thus, the study showed that this topic is very relevant among students, since almost every day they have to experience stressful situations that have a negative impact on the nervous system. This is due to an irregular daily routine, a busy academic schedule and other factors. Therefore, yoga could help to some extent in dealing with stress, that is, provide psychotherapeutic self-help. Such activities will help relieve tension and increase stress resistance, as well as have a positive impact on behavioral, cognitive and psycho-emotional mechanisms in stressful situations.</p>
<back><ref-list><ref id="B1">1.<mixed-citation>Сухарева И.А., Василенко С.А., Турчина В.В.
