Doctors, of course, are of great importance for all mankind. A lot of medical professionals are amazed by their actions that they commit throughout their lives, and how many such unknown cases. Doctors, regardless of time, sometimes lack of basic amenities, work in difficult conditions, saving health and lives every day. It is about such people that it is worth talking, it is such people who should be considered real heroes. The real hero was Vera Ivanovna Chichkanova.Vera Ivanovna Chichkanova (maiden name Harderr) is a therapist at Tugansky District Hospital No. 2. On December 19, 1921, in the village of Bald Mountains, a little Vera appeared in a German family, the future owner of the Order of Lenin. Before the war, Vera graduated from school, and decided to give her life to medicine, going to the medical academy, where her older brother Mikhail was already studying. But the sudden outbreak of the Great Patriotic War broke all plans. The brother of our heroine went to the front, and Vera herself, who successfully passed the exams, enters the academy. But one dark night there was a knock on the apartment, silent people came in, Vera's family, like other Germans, were sent to Tomsk. Not everyone survived on the way, but the heroine's family, without losing a single person, successfully reached the stopping place. At the station of the small town of Tomsk, the car stopped and an order was heard to immediately leave the cars, after which the new arrivals were released to an unfamiliar city. But fortune was on the side of our heroine, she was allowed to continue her studies at the local academy, taking her word for it that the documents remained at the Saratov Academy, besides, they did not pay attention to the "origin", to the fact that she was from exiled. But with one nuance, Vera must pass the first session in her life for a minimum of fours. It was not difficult for our heroine to close the entire session perfectly! In 1944, after graduating from the institute, Vera found a job in the village of Pervomayskoye (Pyshkino-Troitskoye). In the same year, she transferred to the village of Alexandrovka, Tomsk district (Tugansky), and worked there as a therapist. For decades, she remained the only doctor in 20 settlements, the distance between which reached more than 100 km. The only way to travel in that harsh time for a rural doctor was a beloved and faithful horse, despite the weather, in rain and mud or in hot summer, it delivered Faith to the right place on time. But our heroine was not afraid of walking, sometimes overcoming huge distances that reached 30 km.On October 23, 1978, the PVA of the USSR issued a decree awarding Vera Ivanovna Chichkanova the title of Hero with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle medal.Already at an advanced age, the German woman continued to work in the hospital, but in 1983 she was transferred to another village, and four years later the hospital was renamed Oktyabrskaya District Hospital number 2. Vera, having worked for fifty-three years, was irreplaceable.Vera lived the last minutes of her life in Komsomolsk. Having died on January 14, 2008, she was buried in the village of Oktyabrskoye. It is the life stories of such great, hardworking and truly loving people who are an example for us, 1st year students of the medical University.I would like to finish with the phrase of the great Russian military commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov "Heroes are not born, they become heroes", which conveys the whole essence of achieving success, heroism. Since it is actually impossible to be born a great doctor, you need to put a lot of effort into the results, and the most important thing is not to forget in all cases to remain a person first of all.&lt;/p&gt;</body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Томск в судьбе героев: краткий биографический справочник Героев Социалистического Труда и кавалеров ордена Трудовой Славы / Томское региональное отделение Всероссийского общества организации ветеранов (пенсионеров) войны, труда, Вооружённых Сил и правоохранительных органов; Центр документации новейшей истории Томской области; [сост.
