<p>Target. To get acquainted with the historical material on the life and work of G.E. Sukhareva, the founder of child psychiatry in Russia, using general scientific methods of research.</p>

<p>Methods. General scientific method of research was used in the work.</p>

<p>Results. G.E. Sukhareva was one of the first researchers to describe autism as an independent, neurobiological condition.<span class="Apple-converted-space"></span></p>

<p>Conclusion.Studying the works of psychiatrist, Professor G.E.
