Burdenko2605202312S11871900604202307062023Copyright © 2023, Sidnina I.S., Nenakhov I.G.2023<p>Over the centuries, medicine, like other fields of scientific knowledge, has undergone a large number of changes and developed.<br /><strong>The purpose</strong> of this study is to study the main stages of the development of medicine and demonstrate the progress made in medical science during its existence.<br />The research used <strong>materials</strong> of scientific literature on the history of medicine, textbooks and articles of specialized journals. The study was conducted using analytical and descriptive <strong>methods</strong>.<br /><strong>Results.</strong> This article highlights the main stages of the evolution of medicine over time: starting in the Middle Ages, when medical practice was saturated with superstitions and ritualistic beliefs, and ending with modern achievements in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering.
