&lt;p&gt;Syphilis is a disease that represents one of the serious problems of medicine, characterized by a rather high number of registered patients, difficulties in diagnosis and treatment. In this connection, consideration of drugs designed to treat syphilis and analysis of their effectiveness and side effects to identify the best drugs for this disease is of particular relevance.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Objective:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;To study the mechanism of action and side effects of drugs against syphilis and to select from the studied drugs the most effective among those presented nowadays.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Methods of the study:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;In the course of the study, 15 preparations of different derivatives were studied. Penicillin antibiotics (6 drugs) - benzylpenicillin potassium, sodium and novocaine salts, bicillins 1,3,5, cephalosporins (1 drug)- ceftriaxone (longacef),tetracyclines (2 drugs)- doxycycline, erythromycin, bismuth preparations (3 preparations)-biyoquinol, bismoverol, pentabismol, iodine-potassium iodide and arsenic preparations (3 preparations)-sulfarsfenamine, novarsenol, acetarsol. The study was conducted at the Voronezh State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko. N.N. Burdenko Voronezh State Medical University". We evaluated such parameters as: individual tolerability of the drug, duration of action, spectrum of action, side effects and efficacy of use.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Conclusion:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Many antisyphilitic drugs have been shown to be effective on the basis of the data obtained in the study. Penicillin drugs and their derivatives are the drugs of primary choice in the therapy of syphilitic infection and are given first place among the prescriptions, but increasingly frequent cases of intolerance manifested as skin itching, allergic dermatitis, urticaria, sometimes anaphylactic shock.
