However, this does not exclude the existence of alternative medicine, its active distribution. People from different generations, regardless of where they live, quite often resort to the help of healers or healers who do not have a medical education and a proper understanding of the work of the human body. The existence of "pseudo-medicine" is capable of harming a person not only in material terms, but also in physical terms, and worsen the state of health. The purpose of the study is to determine the attitude of people to non-traditional ways of obtaining medical care based on the analysis of the media and a sociological survey of residents of the city of Voronezh and the region. A survey of the population of different age groups and places of residence was conducted. The respondents were 225 people, including 189 people in the age range under 25 years old and 36 people over 25 years old, 153 urban residents, 72 rural residents. An analysis was also made of ads on the Internet, newspapers, magazines and pages on social networks. As a result, a holistic view of the prevalence of alternative medicine was formed and the reasons that contributed to this were identified. It was also indicated the need to take measures to combat the "pseudo-medicine" industry, in order to exclude its negative impact on the population.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>аlternative medicine</kwd><kwd>healing</kwd><kwd>quackery</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>нетрадиционная медицина</kwd><kwd>целительство</kwd><kwd>знахарство</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Исмиев А.Э.
