Get acquainted with the biography of a brilliant scientist, one of the founders of today's epidemiology and bacteriology, and his great contribution to such an important science as microbiology. <br />Methods. Review and careful study of the literature that is devoted to this topic. The study of information from the archives of the university. Consolidation of information from historical sources about the life of Robert Koch. <br />Results. Koch had an enormous influence on the development of modern microbiology. He was the first to identify and cultivate the causative agent of anthrax, and also, to the smallest detail, managed to explain the life cycle of Bacillus anthracis, the features of which play an important role in human infection. It was the discovery of the causative agent of tuberculosis that brought Robert Koch the greatest fame, as well as the method he proposed for diagnosing this widespread infectious disease in the world. Thanks to his research, he was able to formulate three postulates, thanks to which it was possible to associate specific microorganisms with certain diseases, these important statements are known to many today as the Koch triad. It is also worth noting that, among other things, he also introduced into practice new methods for staining microbiological preparations, a special method of inoculation on dense nutrient media, as well as a method of microphotography that was revolutionary at that time. In 1905, Robert Koch received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries. <br />Conclusion.
