Relevance.

The annual increase in the number of cases of cervical cancer (CC) shows the urgent need to activate diagnostic and preventive measures among women of different age groups. The morphogenesis of CC has not been fully studied, the ideas about the oncomorphogenesis of CC are based on the assumption of the sequence of changes in the squamous epithelium from dysplasia to cancer.

Research objective

To study the clinical and morphological features of dysplasia and CC in women in different age groups.

Materials and methods

Surgical and biopsy material, conclusions of pathologists in patients with dysplasia and CC according to the data of the Voronezh Regional Pathology Bureau for the period 2017-2022. The analysis of the annual occurrence, age groups, categories of disease stages, the structure of the final diagnoses and localization of the malignant process, as well as the area and depth of the lesion was carried out.

Results

The incidence of dysplastic changes (LSIL and HSIL) in the cervix had similar dynamics, most often observed in the age group of 30-39 years. CC in the vast majority of cases (97.2%) was represented by squamous cell carcinoma. The most frequent occurrence of CC was in the age group of 40-49 years, while maintaining a high occurrence in older age groups.

Conclusion

СС is represented by squamous cell carcinoma in 97.2% of cases. Among the dysplastic changes, HSIL (CIN2 and CIN3) significantly prevailed over LSIL (CIN1). The area of the lesion, the depth of invasion in СС in different age groups has no clinical and morphological regularity, which indicates the nonlinearity of cancer development in СС.
</article-meta></front>

<back/>
