Relevance. Currently, in the healthcare system of the Russian Federation, much attention is paid to the issues of reproductive health of the population. A significant area of activity in this area is the fight against the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and the identification of factors that can form a responsible attitude of society towards this problem. The purpose of the study is to determine the role of a burdened obstetric and gynecological history in the formation of attitudes towards the problem of sexual infections among the inhabitants of the Chernozem region. Materials and methods. The results of an anonymous survey of women were used as research materials. The survey participants were 520 women aged 18 years and older who are under the supervision of obstetric and gynecological institutions of the 2-3 levels of the Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh regions. The resulting summary of data was examined by implementing descriptive statistics methods with calculation of relative values. Results. Most pregnant women are aware of STIs, but many of them do not have sufficient and reliable knowledge on this issue, as well as their partners. It was also found that not all women are aware of the real threat of STIs during pregnancy and who should be contacted if they are detected. Findings. The results of the study made it possible to draw conclusions about the need for a competent reorganization of educational and medical activities on the part of health and healthcare authorities.
