George Speransky.<br />A doctor is not just a profession. This is an integral part of the life of a person who has chosen such a difficult thorny path. After all, people trust the doctor with the most precious thing health, especially when health concerns a child. The profession of pediatrician is considered one of the most difficult, but at the same time interesting in medicine. These are doctors who work with children of different age groups, are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases.<br />The profession of a pediatric doctor as a separate specialization in Russia appeared in the XIX century. The starting point of its development is considered to be the publication in 1847 of the manual "Pediatrician" by S. F. Hotovitsky. The scientific work highlights the features of the physiology of the child's body, describes the so-called infant diseases. In the second half of the XIX century, he became known as a talented pediatrician N. F. Filatov. He described acute infections inherent in children measles, scarlet fever, diphtheria, chickenpox, made a significant contribution to the study of the latent form of malaria. He wrote textbooks that are fundamental in quality and breadth of knowledge. The formation of pediatrics as an independent medical science lasted for decades, but the official opening of faculties for the training of pediatric doctors in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and Moscow took place only in 1935. Before and after this date, the study of acute topics (for example, the course of pathologies with rash and fever, the use of vaccines) continued, and in modern Russia, every medical university has faculties of pediatrics and its numerous branches narrow specializations (for example, neonatology)<br />A pediatrician should be an excellent diagnostician who, during the initial examination, can immediately assess the condition of a young patient. These doctors observe children from the first days of life- that is why it is so important not to miss any pathology in a child in order to avoid the development of complications of the disease. Knowing who a pediatrician is, it is not difficult to make an ideal psychological portrait: the ability to negotiate, the ability to win over any interlocutor, both the child and his parents. Pediatricians have high patience, restraint, professional attentiveness and perseverance. The main quality is love for children, the desire to provide all possible help and support to every little patient. The absence of squeamishness and indifference is important. Such work implies a huge responsibility. Children are the most precious thing that parents have, they treat them very tenderly. No one will forgive a pediatrician for a mistake that will affect the baby's health for the worse. Therefore, a callous person who does not love people simply will not be able to work with children.<br />Medicine has made great strides over the years, but no smartest machine can replace simple warm human communication. After all, a pediatrician treats not only with medicines, but also with a kind word and a sensitive attitude to young patients and their parents. We must not forget that children's medicine is a very special world, that "adult" methods and techniques do not work here at all and we urgently need to develop others, namely "children's", which were taught to us by the "friend of children" Neil Fedorovich Filatov. A person who is alien to compassion for someone else's grief, kindness and the ability to find an approach not only to a small patient but also to his parents, simply will not be able to work as a pediatrician. That is why a pediatrician is not just a profession, it is a vocation for the rest of your life.</p>
<back><ref-list><ref id="B1">1.<mixed-citation>Лисицын Ю.П.
