The study was conducted in April 2021 on 30 laboratory mongrel male rats aged 6-8 months, whose weight varied between 250-340 grams. After 10 days of quarantine, the animals were weighed and distributed into containers of 5 individuals. A special moisture-absorbing diaper Le Artis 60x60 cm for pets was previously fixed to the bottom of each container. After that, a drinking bowl with drinking water was installed in each container on the first day. After 24 hours, the diaper was weighed, the container was cleaned, a new diaper was attached and the animals were launched. On the second day, birch sap was poured into the drinking bowl. After 24 hours, the diapers were weighed again.
Results: the average weight of the diaper after the use of drinking water was 36.2 g, and after the use of birch sap - 45 g.
Thus, it was determined that when using birch sap, animals secrete 24.3% more fluid (p0.05).Conclusion - based on the presented results, it can be concluded that birch sap increases the amount of fluid released. This information proves the expediency of conducting further studies to substantiate the use of birch sap as a diuretic.
birch sapdiapers for animalsdiureticберёзовый сокпелёнки для животныхдиуретическое средство
PURPOSE
The aim of the work was to determine the diuretic properties of birch sap.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The study was conducted in April 2021 on 30 laboratory mongrel male rats aged 6-8 months, whose weight varied between 250-340 grams. The maintenance and feeding of animals was carried out in accordance with the "Sanitary rules for the device, equipment and maintenance of experimental biological clinics (vivariums) (GOST R 50258-92).
The collection of birch sap was carried out at the end of March 2021 in the village of Yamnoye, Voronezh region.
Statistical processing of the material was carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program using the Student's t-test for two independent samples. At a level of statistical significance less than 0.05.

RESULTS
The results are the difference in the mass of diapers taken after a day of drinking water and birch sap. According to these data, it was found that the average weight of the film on the first day was 36.2 g, and on the second 45 g. Thus, it was determined that when using birch sap, animals secrete 24.3% more fluid (p0.05).
DISCUSSION
Probably, the diuretic effect of birch sap is associated with a high concentration of sodium and potassium salts in it, which, released through the genitourinary system, remove the liquid.
It is worth noting the disadvantages of the method of measuring diuresis, since by installing one drinker per container, it is impossible to control the exact dose of liquid that each animal receives, but due to the fact that the study is carried out on the same rats sequentially in two stages, it can be assumed that each animal will consume a certain amount of liquid each time and the ratio of liquid consumed will be maintained. As for the excretion, then, of course, the use of a urinary catheter for each rat separately will allow to determine the amount of urine excreted as accurately as possible, and also to exclude the settling of moisture from other sources on the diaper. Our work on the study of the diuretic properties of birch sap has no analogues and as the first stage of the study, we were faced with the task of confirming or refuting the existing hypothesis. For further study, in particular the exact calculation of diuresis, it is necessary to apply more precise methods.
CONCLUSION
Based on the presented results, it can be concluded that birch sap increases the amount of fluid released. This information proves the expediency of conducting further studies to substantiate the use of birch sap as
[Ошмарина А.Г., Петрова Н.Е.
