While the international scientific community actively uses the NOVA and SIGA classifications, the Russian consumer information system ("Traffic Light" labelling, GOST standards) remains focused on traditional indicators of product safety and quality.Objective. To conduct a comparative analysis of food classifications based on processing degree (NOVA, SIGA) and existing Russian approaches ("Traffic Light" labelling, GOST compliance) to assess their comparability and applicability in the Russian dairy market.Methods. A cross-sectional study of 100 samples of fermented milk products purchased from retail chains in the city of Voronezh was conducted. For each sample, the ingredient composition, nutritional value, presence of "Traffic Light" labelling, and GOST compliance were analyzed. The products were classified according to the NOVA system (groups 14) and the SIGA algorithm, which involves counting ultra-processing markers (UPM) and assessing nutritional thresholds.Results. The proportion of ultra-processed products (NOVA group 4) in the sample was 42%. The SIGA system allowed for further detailing of this group: 28% of samples were classified as category C1 (high level of processing), and 14% as C0 (borderline). Based on the analysis of information found on consumer packaging (including products not subject to sampling), significant discrepancies with the "Traffic Light" labelling were revealed: 31% of products with "green" or "yellow" indicators for fat and sugar content contained two or more ultra-processing markers according to SIGA criteria and were classified as ultra-processed. Compliance with GOST did not guarantee the absence of UPM: 15% of products labelled as "GOST" contained one or more markers due to permitted technological additives.Conclusions. The current Russian "Traffic Light" labelling system and consumer reliance on GOST standards do not allow for the full identification of ultra-processed products. The SIGA system provides the most differentiated assessment. The findings substantiate the need for implementing a hybrid approach that considers both international criteria and national standards to improve the consumer information system in Russia.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>ultra-processed foods</kwd><kwd>NOVA classification</kwd><kwd>SIGA classification</kwd><kwd>"Traffic Light" labelling</kwd><kwd>dairy products</kwd><kwd>ultra-processing markers</kwd><kwd>food hygiene</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>ультраобработанные продукты</kwd><kwd>система NOVA</kwd><kwd>классификация SIGA</kwd><kwd>маркировка «Светофор»</kwd><kwd>молочная продукция</kwd><kwd>маркеры ультраобработки</kwd><kwd>гигиена питания</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Москаленко, Н.
