Viruses occupy a leading place among the etiologic agents, but bacterial infections (in particular, salmonellosis)retaintheir epidemiological significance. In mixed infections, the interaction of several pathogens leads to asignificant changein the clinical picture in comparison withmonoinfections. The work covers not only the etiology and clinical manifestations of acute intestinalinfections, butalso presents global statistics on the detection of this disease to understand the scale of the problem. The study draws attention to a global problem that hasaccompaniesmedical institutions of many countries for a long time. Analysis of information from many scientific papers on this topic allows us toidentifycertain patterns in the course of acute intestinal infections of mixed etiology, which enables healthcare professionals to develop increasingly correct and effective treatment regimens.
