The speed of inflammation resolution and the prevention of complications depend on timely diagnosis and competent, comprehensive treatment.Objective.To study the structure of drug prescriptions used in the treatment of sinusitis (maxillary sinusitis, frontal sinusitis) in children in a hospital setting for the period January-March 2024, from the perspective of current clinical guidelines and drug instructions.Materials and methods.An analysis was performed on the medical records of 154 patients (children under 18 years) who received treatment in the ENT department of a hospital in Kursk during the period January-March 2024.Results.The specific nosology was established in 24 children diagnosed with "Acute purulent maxillary sinusitis/frontal sinusitis. Nasal breathing obstruction." In 100% of cases, sinus puncture and drainage were performed under local anesthesia. In the structure of antibacterial drugs, the third-generation cephalosporin group predominated (91.7%), with parenteral cefotaxime being the most frequently prescribed  to 20 children (90.9%). In the antihistamine group, loratadine was predominantly prescribed  to 18 children (81.8%). Among analgesics, metamizole sodium was most commonly used  in 7 respondents (70%). Two- and three-component pharmacotherapy regimens predominated in the prescriptions (33.3% and 58.3%, respectively). Thus, rational treatment of maxillary and/or frontal sinusitis, both in the acute period and during the period of convalescence, ensures a successful outcome, minimizes risks, and prevents serious complications.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>sinusitis</kwd><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>treatment</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>синусит</kwd><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>лечение</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Андреева И.В., Стецюк О.У., Егорова О.А.
