Deficiency of melatonin as a broad-spectrum adaptogen leads to structural and functional disorders at the level of the whole organism, including the reproductive system, which is manifested by a shortening of the menstrual cycle and accelerated aging of the ovaries. Objective. To study the effect of dark deprivation on the reproductive system of rats during the first trimester of pregnancy, to assess the survival rate and weight gain rate of the offspring. Materials and methods. Wistar rats were placed in conditions of a disturbed light regime during the first trimester of pregnancy, then the survival rate and weight gain of the offspring were assessed; the control group of rats was under standard lighting conditions. Results. It was possible to establish that dark deprivation leads to an increase in the number of offspring, but the survival rate and weight gain rate in the offspring of the experimental group of rats are significantly lower. The obtained results allow us to assume that melatonin deficiency causes developmental disorders and decreased survival of offspring against the background of dysfunction of the reproductive system of female rats.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>melatonin</kwd><kwd>dark deprivation</kwd><kwd>desynchronosis</kwd><kwd>rats</kwd><kwd>survival</kwd><kwd>weight gain</kwd><kwd>reproductive system</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>мелатонин</kwd><kwd>темновая депривация</kwd><kwd>десинхроноз</kwd><kwd>крысы</kwd><kwd>выживаемость</kwd><kwd>набор веса</kwd><kwd>репродуктивная система</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>1.
