Numerous literary sources show that over the centuries, the study of the lymphatic system of the breast led various authors to contradictory concepts, which complicated the functional interpretation of the typical and variant lymphangioarchitectonics of the breast, in particular the subareolar lymphatic plexus, first fully described by Constant Marie Philibert Sappey and named in his honor. The study and clinical interpretation of the topographic and anatomical features of the formation of lymphatic outflow links from the breast is extremely important, since lymphogenous metastasis in breast cancer is one of the main ways of tumor dissemination. The aim of the work is a clinical and anatomical substantiation of lymphogenous metastasis of breast cancer, topographically associated with the areolar region.
