Blogging is the process of creating and maintaining a blog on the Internet, the purpose of which is to attract an audience by regularly publishing content and materials interesting to users[1]. Blogs can be posted on various Internet sites, social networks and various messengers. Recently, blogs of various kinds have become especially popular, the audience of bloggers is constantly growing, and their activities are beginning to influence public opinion in various areas of our lives. Therefore, the study of the specifics of maintaining a medical blog becomes relevant.
The purpose of the study presented below is to analyze and describe the unique aspects of running a medical blog. In the course of the research, we tried to identify the main factors influencing the creation and subsequent dissemination of medical content, such as ethical standards, the need for accurate medical information, interaction with various audiences, and the use of modern technologies. The article examines the advantages and difficulties faced by medical bloggers, as well as the impact of their work on public awareness.
Research methods. During our research, we used the following methods: content analysis, which allowed us to explore and identify common themes, presentation styles, and common approaches to interacting with the audience. The survey and interview method allowed us to collect the statistical data necessary for the work. The social media analysis method has contributed to a better study of interaction and analysis of various discussions on social media in order to be able to evaluate and identify those methods that have proven to be most effective.
In the course of our work, 168 students from various universities and their parents were interviewed, who read or use video information from bloggers promoting medical information. Subsequently, all respondents were divided into the following age groups: 17-25 years old - 70%, 25-50 (30%) over 50 years old - 20% of respondents.
Results. As a result of the survey and questionnaire, it was found that less than 20% of young respondents are regularly interested in medical blogs, and then this percentage increases in accordance with increasing age.
We were able to identify the main goals of blogging. They can be different. For example, pharmaceutical companies actively use blogs to promote their products or services. Some authors create commercial entertainment content using various costumed images, special effects, and so on.Such content is usually aimed at so-called "unloading" viewers from the burden of everyday life. We believe that one of the most interesting is blogging, which is aimed at education, exchange of experience and popularization of medical knowledge.
Educational blogs may include medical blogs, which are discussed below. In our study, we limited the scope of a medical blog to studying only those blogs whose authors are directly related to medicine in one form or another. We believe that medical blogging is a form of promotion in which doctors run their own blogs on social networks, introducing the audience to modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases, talk about principles and practical approaches in their work. Recently, this trend has been reaching a large number of audiences. In addition to doctors, these blogs are run by nurses, pharmacists, and medical students.
Let's look at the main goals of running a medical blog. As mentioned earlier, doctors can blog to inform the audience about modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of certain diseases, but it also allows them to establish a trusting relationship with the patient, develop their professional skills, increase the number of patients and, as a result, increase their income.
Teachers often use the blog to post their lectures online. This allows students to explore different sources and better assimilate information. It should be noted that blogging in the pharmaceutical business is primarily of an advertising nature. This allows you to promote certain drugs to the masses, but such blogs also broaden your horizons and awareness of medical topics.
Students of medical universities often blog in order to talk about the difficulties and interesting moments of their studies, as well as share tips on the educational process.
In addition to exclusively educational content, some bloggers talk about interesting cases from their practice, which sometimes play the role of entertainment content.
Let's stop and consider the pros and cons of running a medical blog.Running a medical blog has many advantages, both for the author and for the audience.:
For the author: professional development: constant study of new topics, research and recommendations for creating interesting content contribute to the preservation and deepening of knowledge in the field of medicine.
Improve your communication skills, as blogging requires the ability to clearly and easily explain complex medical concepts to a wide audience.
Increasing credibility, relevance, and recognition: A high-quality blog can help attract new patients and colleagues. After all, if a person is well versed in this field, then people develop a trusting attitude towards the author.
Additional income: in addition to attracting new patients, which already brings additional earnings, the author can profit from advertising, affiliate programs, or the sale of his own products and services (consultations, webinars, etc.).
The blog provides an opportunity to express himself and develop creatively.
This allows you to establish contacts with other specialists in the field of medicine, exchange experiences and acquired knowledge.
Satisfaction from helping people: by sharing useful information, the author of the blog helps people better understand their health and make correct and informed decisions.
For the audience: access to reliable medical information: a blog run by a qualified specialist allows you to receive truthful and up-to-date medical information.Such blogs allow people to improve their level of medical literacy. They begin to better understand their body, individual developmental characteristics and various processes occurring in the body. Many people learn about the causes of diseases and methods of their prevention.
Relieving anxiety and fears: people who do not have close contact with medicine often feel fear when they need to see a specialist or perform any manipulations, this is one of the main reasons for the late diagnosis of diseases. An accessible explanation of medical problems can help reduce health-related anxiety and dispel common myths.
Many blogs provide an opportunity to ask the author interesting questions and get qualified answers to them.
Various blogs can become sources of support for people suffering from chronic diseases or undergoing treatment/rehabilitation.
Getting accessible information from the blog can help you avoid unnecessary doctor visits and save money on consultations.
However, in addition to the many advantages of running a medical blog, it also has significant drawbacks.
The main disadvantages of running a medical blog, which we identified during the study. Responsibility. First of all, the author of such a blog is responsible for making it clear that its content is not a substitute for going to a doctor. Patients may perceive the blog as a source of medical advice, which is unacceptable.
Any incorrect or incomplete information provided by the author may lead to incorrect actions of patients, harm their health and entail legal liability.
Careless mention of patients or their cases, even without specifying a specific name, can lead to a violation of medical confidentiality.Using quotes, images, or information from other people can lead to lawsuits.
Creating high-quality content takes a lot of time. Information search, writing posts, editing, creating images and various videos, blog promotion.Medical information is constantly being deepened and improved, so such a blog requires regular updates and checking for relevance.Competition in the medical field is high, so attracting and retaining an audience requires significant efforts.
There are other disadvantages that negatively affect the quality of the content. The author of the blog should be prepared for negative comments and criticism, they can be both justified and unfounded.Running a blog like this requires significant emotional resources.Low-quality or irrelevant content can damage the author's reputation and reduce his credibility as a qualified specialist.Dependence on social media algorithms, which can change and reduce audience reach.
Conclusion. As a result of our work, we were able to identify the key aspects that determine the specifics of running a medical blog. We believe that compliance with ethical standards and control over the accuracy of the information provided are necessary to maintain the trust of the audience. In addition, medical bloggers can influence the health of their audience, as their activities help raise public awareness in various medical situations. Therefore, we consider it necessary to study this topic in the course of further work.

<back><ref-list><ref id="B1">1.<mixed-citation>Иванова Л.А.
