Broncho-obstructive syndrome (BOS) is a condition characterized by impaired airway patency due to narrowing of the bronchial lumen. It often develops in children against the background of viral infections, such as obstructive bronchitis and pneumonia, and can also be associated with allergic reactions. In children with impaired physical development, such as protein-energy malnutrition (PEM) and obesity, the course of BOS can be more severe, with frequent complications. The aim of this study is to investigate the features of BOS in preschool and school-age children. Materials and methods. The study analyzed 40 medical records of children aged 5 to 15 years who were hospitalized in 2024. All patients underwent physical examination, general clinical and biochemical blood tests, and chest X-rays. Physical development was assessed using the WHO Anthro program and the sigma deviation method. Statistical data processing was performed using the "STATISTICA" and Excel 2019 software. Results. It was found that BOS most often develops against the background of viral infections, such as obstructive bronchitis and pneumonia. In children with PEM and obesity, the course of BOS was more severe, with frequent complications such as atelectasis and respiratory failure. Patients with a burdened allergic history had a longer persistence of symptoms (cough, shortness of breath), requiring longer therapy with systemic glucocorticosteroids. The most frequently prescribed drugs were mucolytics (92.5% of cases) and third-generation cephalosporins (65% of cases). Conclusion. The study showed that children with impaired physical development and a burdened allergic history have a more severe course of BOS, requiring an individualized approach to treatment. The obtained data emphasize the need to consider clinical and age-related characteristics when choosing therapy for BOS in children.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>bronchoobstructive syndrome</kwd><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>pneumonia</kwd><kwd>obstructive bronchitis</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>бронхообструктивный синдром</kwd><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>пневмония</kwd><kwd>обструктивный бронхит</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Levy ML, Bacharier LB, Bateman E, et al.
