From 40 to 80% of people of different genders and ages suffer from flat feet in different countries. If the problem is ignored, complications such as intervertebral hernias, pain during walking and other physical activities, ingrown toenails, calluses, and osteoarthritis can occur. The causes of flat feet can be different: weakness of the muscles of the foot, shin and ligaments, rachitic flat foot, traumatic flat feet (fractures of the heel bone, ankle, tarsal bones). On the basis of N.N. Burdenko VSMU, on the students of 1-3 courses of medical and paediatric faculties, in the age category from 18 to 21 years, we conducted a study on a special device to detect flat foot: Plantograph. During the study of 50 people (boys and girls equally), it was revealed: flat feet in 3 girls and 1 boy, high arch - in 22 girls and 22 boys and only 2 boys were found to have a foot without any pathological changes. The most commonly used methods of correction, prevention of disease progression: conservative methods, orthopaedic devices (e.g. insoles), special gymnastics. Purpose of the study: to analyse the prevalence of foot development disorders (flat feet) among the students studying in VSMU, the most frequently used methods of correction of this disease. Materials and methods: the data of the research Plantograph, as well as educational literature for the development of special gymnastics. After the research we found out what are the most optimal and common options for the treatment of flat feet among young people. We proposed a method, as well as step-by-step instructions, following which it is possible to get rid of the inconvenience caused by this disease.</p>
