The role of chaperones, specifically HSP70 and HSP27, in the pathogenesis of these diseases warrants thorough investigation. The objective of our study was to examine the activity of chaperones HSP70 and HSP27 in patients with type 2 diabetes and obesity to understand their impact on metabolic disturbances. The study involved 158 patients, and the levels of HSP70 and HSP27 were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Concurrently, clinical and laboratory assessments were conducted to evaluate metabolic status. The results revealed a significant reduction in the levels of HSP70 and HSP27 in patients with type 2 diabetes compared to the control group. This decrease in chaperone activity correlated with worsened insulin resistance and increased inflammatory markers. Thus, our findings suggest that reduced chaperone activity may contribute to the development of metabolic disorders in patients with type 2 diabetes and obesity.
