For scientific purposes, Wistar rats are most often used due to their small mass, relative simplicity of housing and breeding. To obtain the most reliable and correctly interpreted results, it is important to create bases of health-associated reference intervals (RI) of biometric parameters of laboratory animals depending on the sex and age of animals, season of research and reaction to external influences. Objective. To study micromorphometric indices of hepatocytes of male and female Wistar rats in normals at the age of 3 months. Materials and methods. 80 Wistar rats were kept in standard conditions in accordance with GOST R 53434-2009 for 3 weeks with subsequent euthanasia and evisceration of the liver, as well as determination of its absolute and relative weight Morphometric analysis was carried out on liver micropreparations stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Micromorphometry was performed only on interphase hepatocytes without signs of pathological changes. Results. We obtained data of micromorphometric parameters of hepatocytes characteristic for male and female Wistar rats at the age of 3 months. As a result, a clear gender dimorphism of these values is observed.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Reference intervals</kwd><kwd>RI</kwd><kwd>hepatocytes</kwd><kwd>Wistar rats</kwd><kwd>micromorphometric parameters</kwd><kwd>preclinical research</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Референсные интервалы (РИ)</kwd><kwd>гепатоциты</kwd><kwd>крысы Вистар</kwd><kwd>микроморфометрические показатели</kwd><kwd>доклинические исследования</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Schneider CA, Rasband WS, Eliceiri KW.
