In 2022, the Expert Council of the Russian Scientific Expert Council of the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Therapists (RSMOT) adopted a resolution on the need to develop and introduce into practice a clear algorithm for the management of patients with established VB12 deficiency. Objective. Comparison of the dynamics of patients' life quality by treatment groups depending on the applied schemes of pharmacocorrection of VB12 deficiency. Materials and methods. Assessment of the quality of life before and after treatment using the EQ-5D questionnaire. Results. Among the patients the most significant dynamics was noted in Mobility and Pain/discomfort, especially in groups 1 and 3, taking metformin daily orally and intramuscularly, respectively. There were no significant changes in Self-care and Anxiety/depression qualities. The subjective state of health of patients increased most significantly in groups 1 and 3. Conclusion. The greatest positive effect on the patients' quality of life was observed with daily oral intake of 1 mg of cyanocobalamin for 8 weeks and daily intramuscular injection of 0.5 mg during the 1st week and then 500 mcg once a week for 16 weeks; weekly oral administration of 1 mg cyanocobalamin for 16 weeks resulted in 2-3 times less pronounced subjective improvement of quality of life.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>metformin</kwd><kwd>cyanocobalamin</kwd><kwd>vitamin B12 deficiency</kwd><kwd>type 2 diabetes mellitus</kwd><kwd>life quality</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>метформин</kwd><kwd>цианокобаламин</kwd><kwd>дефицит витамина В12</kwd><kwd>сахарный диабет 2-го типа</kwd><kwd>качество жизни</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Obeid R, Andrès E, Češka R, Hooshmand B, Guéant-Rodriguez RM, Prada GI, Sławek J, Traykov L, Ta Van B, Várkonyi T, Reiners K, The Vitamin B Consensus Panelists Group.
