&lt;p&gt;Introduction. Dental caries, despite advances in modern dentistry, remains one of the most common human diseases, affecting the vast majority of the world's population. While the role of external factors such as diet, oral hygiene and microflora composition is well studied and recognised, the influence of genetic factors on caries development is often underestimated. This study aims to investigate the role of genetic factors in the development of dental caries, examining both inherited predisposition and the interaction of genes with environmental factors.The study will analyse current data on genes associated with various aspects of the cariesogenic process, including enamel formation, saliva composition and quantity, and immune response to oral microflora. Particular attention will be paid to the relationship between genotype and phenotype in the context of caries development, as well as the prospects for the application of genetic information to develop personalised strategies for the prevention and treatment of this disease.The aim of this paper is to systematise the available knowledge on the genetic determinants of dental caries and to assess their contribution to the overall picture of the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease.&lt;/p&gt;
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>dental caries</kwd><kwd>genetic factors</kwd><kwd>hereditary predisposition</kwd><kwd>enamel formation</kwd><kwd>saliva composition and quantity</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>кариес зубов</kwd><kwd>генетические факторы</kwd><kwd>наследственная предрасположенность</kwd><kwd>формирование эмали</kwd><kwd>состав и количество слюны</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>1.
