Analysis of the condition of newborns born in the third or more pregnancies. Materials and methods. Primary medical documentation (birth histories, newborn histories, exchange cards). Results. Height, weight, as well as the presence of pathological conditions of the newborn, make it possible to develop certain tactics of childbirth in women of this group and timely prevention of complications of childbirth. Relevance. Reducing perinatal and infant mortality rates is possible by reducing the burden of modifiable risk factors [1]. A number of studies have demonstrated that pregnancy in women over 30 years of age is associated with an increased risk of pregnancy complications and adverse perinatal outcomes [2].
Goal. Analysis of the condition of newborns born in the third or more pregnancies.
Materials and methods. Primary medical documentation (birth histories, newborn histories, exchange cards).
Results. In this study, data from 64 women aged 21 to 45 years were studied. According to WHO, the optimal age for the birth of a child is the age of a woman from 20 to 30 years old [3].
The average age of women (50.0%) who had complications of pregnancy or childbirth was 32.8 ± 0.6 years.
On average, the gestation period at the time of delivery was 263 ± 1.4 days. 40 women (74.1%) gave birth to a child on time. Women in this group had 34 (53.1%) boys, of whom 2 were born prematurely, and 29 (45.3%) girls, of whom 3 were premature. The average age of women who had premature babies was 30 years. The average weight of newborns was 3171 ± 64 grams, and the average height was 51.3 ± 0.6 cm.
Pathological conditions were observed in 16 infants (25.0%): central nervous system disorders, respiratory pathology, Rh factor isoimmunization, risk group for the implementation of IUI, hemorrhages, neonatal jaundice, pyelectasia on both sides of the fetus, cardiac pathology, classification of the risk group for anemia, intrauterine infection. Three newborns (4.6%) required a ventilator. The average age of women with infants with pathology was 32.4 years. 13 women (81.3%) had a somatic disease in combination with gynecological or without it, and 3 (18.7%) had only gynecological diseases.
Conclusion. Despite the already achieved level of quality of pregnancy management in women of different age groups, the number of complications from newborns remains significant. The information obtained will help in providing effective assistance to premature infants, organizing the work of staff and improving the level of equipment of perinatal centers.
