Abstract

Objective. To identify the leading predictors of chronic maxillary sinusitis in an interdisciplinary aspect (otorhinolaryngologist-dentist). Materials and Methods. The data from the charts of "Medical record of an inpatient" (registration form 003/u) were retrospectively analyzed. The charts of 50 patients, including 29 male and 21 female were studied. The average age of the patients was 38 years. The study used statistical analysis by percentage estimation, Pearson's chi-square calculation: number of degrees of freedom equal to 1. Results. According to the data of the performed work, we managed to identify the leading CT predictors of CSF: cysts of the maxillary sinus, septal deformity, variant anatomy of the osteomeatal complex, presence of the causal tooth.Cysts of the maxillary sinus and variant anatomy of the osteomeatal complex prevail in females according to statistical calculations. Nasal septal deformity predominates in the male sex according to statistical calculations. The presence of a causal tooth is not related to gender identity and can be equally manifested in both women and men.Conclusions. The above parameters should be taken into account when interpreting MSCT results. Patients with chronic sinusitis should undergo MSCT of the appendicular sinuses, consultation with an otorhinolaryngologist with endoscopic nasal cavity examination, and treatment of inflammatory processes in the causal tooth during treatment by dental surgeons and orthopedists.
