Abstract
The experiments were performed on male Wistar rats with a body weight of 180-240g, age 3 months, which were divided into two groups depending on the conditions of modeling chronic alcohol intoxication (CAI). The absolute number of erythrocytes (RBC; ×1012/l) and hemoglobin (HGB; g/l) was studied using the MicroCC-20Plus hematological analyzer. Analysis of the results of the study showed a significant decrease in the absolute number of red blood cells and hemoglobin levels in experimental rats compared with the control group, which indicates the development of anemic syndrome regardless of the conditions of CAI. At the same time, our study showed that the absolute number of erythrocytes in the CAI group 10% -30 is significantly lower than in animals in the conditions of CAI 40%-30 (p < 0.05). Comparison of hemoglobin values between the groups of CAI 10%-30 and CAI 40%-30 did not reveal significant differences, which indicates the influence of the volume of ethanol-containing liquid consumption on the development of pathological changes in red blood cells. It was found that the severity of the damaging effects of ethanol on red blood cells in conditions of chronic alcohol intoxication is due not only to the concentration, but also to the volume of ethanol-containing liquid, as well as the alcohol consumption regime.

Relevance. Red blood cells are sensitive indicators of pathological changes in the body. In conditions of prolonged and excessive alcohol consumption, red blood cells adsorb most of the ethanol [1].
The purpose of the study: to study the effect of various alcohol consumption regimes on the state of red blood cells as an indicator of the damaging effects of ethanol.
Materials and methods. Group I (n = 8) -10% ethanol solution freely available for 30 days (HAI 10% -30); group II (n = 8) - daily forced consumption of 40% ethanol solution at a dose of 2.5 g/kg for 30 days; control group (n = 8) – standard water-food ration. The parameters of erythrocytes were evaluated by a 3-diff analyzer "MicroCC-20Plus". Descriptive statistics are represented by median (Me) and interquartile interval (Q1–Q3).
Results. In groups I and II, a significant decrease in the content of erythrocytes and hemoglobin was revealed: (Me=5.6(Q1=5.4; Q3=5.7)), (Me=6.6(Q1=6.4; Q3=6.9)) and Me=106(Q1=102;Q3=109)), Me=106 (Q1=104; Q3=109)), accordingly, in comparison with the control (at p < 0.05).
Conclusions. The results of the studies indicate the development of anemic syndrome in the conditions of KHAI and are consistent with the literature data [2], the development of alcohol-related pathology of erythrocytes depends on the amount of ethanol-containing liquid consumed and the alcohol consumption regime.
