Abstract

According to the world literature data on the example of Chinese medical university students and Russian literature, which describes the study of students of the Altai State Medical University, medical university students are affected by irrational beliefs that have a significant impact on the quality of life of students, namely, lead to the development of anxiety, depression, academic stress and difficulties in the formation of professional identity. On the basis of Tver State Medical University, 37 students and residents were diagnosed with irrational beliefs according to the method of A. Ellis. The wide distribution of all groups of irrational beliefs among respondents was revealed, and the most often pronounced presence of beliefs from the group "Catastrophization", "Self-obligation" and "Frustrating tolerance" was determined. In more than 55% of students and residents, beliefs in all groups were determined to an average degree. The Russian and World medical and psychological community offers methods of cognitive behavioral therapy developed by A. Ellis to solve this problem.

Relevance. The influence of irrational beliefs is widely studied among students around the world. A study by HW Chan and CF Sun showed that irrational beliefs are widespread among students of Chinese medical universities, which lead to depression, anxiety and academic stress [1]. The results of O.G. Barinova's study of students of the Altai State Medical University reflect the influence of irrational beliefs on the formation of professional identity [2]. According to these studies, cognitive behavioral therapy methods are suitable for solving this problem.
The purpose of the study: to identify irrational beliefs among medical university students.
Materials and methods. To identify irrational beliefs, the respondents were offered a validated methodology "Diagnostics of irrational beliefs" by A.Ellis[2]. This technique contains 50 statements with six possible answers. All statements are divided into five groups: "Catastrophization", "Self-obligation", "Due to others", "Self-esteem and rationality of thinking", "Frustration tolerance". The results obtained are evaluated on three levels: with a result of less than 15 points, the irrational attitude of this category is pronounced; the result is from 15 to 22 points – there is an installation, but its influence is not so pronounced; when you score 22 points or more, the absence of an irrational installation is determined. Inclusion criterion: study at Tver State Medical University (hereinafter – TSMU). Registration method: free Internet services "Google forms" and "Google tables". Statistical analysis consisted in the calculation of points according to the instructions of the questionnaire, as well as the formation of a sample population.
Results. 37 students and residents of TSMU took part in the survey. The results are shown in Table 1.

According to the survey results, irrational attitudes among TSMU students are determined by all groups of attitudes.
Conclusions. The results of the study showed that irrational beliefs of different categories are present among all students of the medical university, and this increases the probability of occurrence and development of stress.
