Abstract

In the system of relations between internists and other specialists, the aspects of their interaction with dentists are the least studied. However, often the reason for the patient's treatment to the dentist is the presence of somatic pathology. On the other hand, the presence of certain changes on the part of the organs and tissues of the oral cavity and the appropriate dental advice can help the general practitioner in the early diagnosis of the disease and the appointment of adequate treatment of the patient.
Goal. To study the features of the structure of the tongue in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular pathology and endocrine diseases.
Materials and methods. A survey was conducted among students of Kirov State Medical University in the number of 56 people (age from 17 to 23 years).
Results. Among students, 39% have diseases of one or another organ system. The presence of characteristic features of the language in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system and endocrine pathologies was also noticed in respondents.
Students are quite familiar with the characteristic features of the structure of the language in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, but some of the diseases of the cardiovascular and endocrine systems have caused difficulties. Only 42% of respondents correctly identified the features of chronic cardiovascular insufficiency, and 35% of diabetes mellitus at all.
Conclusions. The relationship of systemic diseases with the structure of language has been confirmed. However, not everyone is familiar with the features that manifest themselves in the structure of the language, characteristic of certain diseases.

Relevance. According to Rosstat data, 14,810,0 thousand diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, 35420,8 thousand diseases of the circulatory system and 12071,6 thousand diseases of the endocrine system were detected in 2020.
Due to the high prevalence of these diseases, there is a need for their early diagnosis.
Everyone who has gastrointestinal diseases has noticed a white or gray dense plaque on their tongue, 53% of them are concerned about dryness, burning and a feeling of "scalding", and only 12% have a change in taste sensitivity. However, 77% of those who do not have gastrointestinal diseases also note this feature. This may be due to the fact that one of the diseases of this system is gastritis, which occupies a central place among stomach diseases, and in countries with developed statistics it is recorded in 80% of the population, some of whom may not even suspect it [1]. 11% of respondents have diseases of the cardiovascular system and each of them meets with ulcers in the area of the lateral surfaces, the back and the tip of the tongue, 50% notice spotting and hemorrhage on the back of the tongue. Among the respondents, diseases of the endocrine system occur in 7%, they observe papillary hyperplasia and a white or gray plaque on the tongue, 25% of them have tongue folding and swelling.
50% of the subjects, correctly, chose all the features characteristic of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. 46% of the respondents considered that papillary hyperplasia is a feature in gastrointestinal diseases, which is not true [2]. 63% of respondents correctly identified the features of the language in the presence of cardiovascular pathology in humans. The choice of features of the structure of the language in diseases of the endocrine system caused the greatest difficulties for the subjects, only 42% of respondents gave the correct answer.
If 65% of the subjects successfully managed to determine the features of the language in colitis and gastritis, then diseases such as diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular insufficiency caused many doubts and difficulties. Only 35% of respondents noted the features characteristic of diabetes mellitus.
Conclusions. Among the students of Kirov State Medical University who took part in the study, the relationship of language change with systemic diseases was confirmed. However, not all students are familiar with the characteristic signs that manifest themselves in the structure of the language, with some of the most common diseases.
