Abstract
Introduction. The World Health Organization (WHO) is concerned about the growing trend of obesity among the female population of reproductive age. Regarding pregnancy, obesity is a prognostically unfavorable risk factor for the development of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes mellitus with fetal macrosomia.
Goal. To conduct a comparative analysis of anthropometric data, eating behavior and motor activity of pregnant women with obesity.
Materials and methods. analysis of 148 individual cards of pregnant women and women in labor who were registered on an outpatient basis in the women's consultation of the BUZ IN "VGKP No. 1" in the period from 2020 to 2022. 2 comparison groups were formed: the main group – women with abdominal obesity diagnosed before pregnancy (n=114), the cotntrol group – with normal BMI (n=34). When registering, studies were conducted: BMI (height, weight), anthropometry (waist and hip circumference), DEBQ eating behavior assessment questionnaire, IPAQ motor activity questionnaire.
Results. the average age of women in the main group was 28.9±0.6 years, in the control group – 23.4± 1.2 years. A detailed analysis of the distribution of the incidence of obesity among pregnant women shows that a high percentage of cases (54%) occur in the age range of 20-29 years, and the smallest – up to 20 and over 40 years. Burdened heredity for violation of fat and carbohydrate metabolism was more often registered in the study group (86% of cases), against 15% of the control group. The average BMI in pregnant women of the main group was 38.9± 2.3 kg/m2, in the control group – 23.4± 0.5 kg/m2. A comparative analysis of anthropometric indicators shows that in the study group the coefficient of OT/O was 0.95±0.014, in the control group – 0.81±0.034. Body weight gain during pregnancy was statistically higher in the study group - 6.5 [2.8;10.2], while in the control group – 5.1 [3.3;6.8]. Conducting a questionnaire aimed at assessing eating behavior and physical activity demonstrates the predominance of indicators of eating disorders (irrational, irregular, excessive), low physical activity in the observation group, while in the control group 96% adherents of an active lifestyle and a rational and balanced diet.
Conclusions. The high incidence of eating disorders, motor regime, fat and carbohydrate metabolism among pregnant women leave the problem of obesity relevant and attracting close attention from the medical community. Lifestyle modification at the stage of pre–pregnancy preparation is a vector for reducing obstetric complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
