Abstract
Relevance: the main goal of a doctor's professional activity is to preserve and improve human life, because human life is the most important value. To be a doctor is to accept all the difficulties of this work, to bear the huge responsibility that lies on your shoulders, to be ready to provide medical assistance to any person. It is not the ability to be a good doctor that is inherited, but the love of the profession. Our article examines one of the dynasties of the Smolensk State Medical University – the dynasty of doctors. Purpose: to find out how the family influences the choice of a future profession. Materials and methods: analysis, synthesis and generalization.

"Who do I want to become when I grow up?" is exactly the question every child asks when thinking about his future. If you choose something that you don't like, you will have to work at an unloved job, and, accordingly, approach your duties without any interest. Nowadays there are a huge number of different professions, and it is very difficult to understand which one to choose. The family leaves its imprint on the life of the child, it plays a particularly important role in making the choice of a future profession. And unlike other specialties, it can play a major role in choosing a medical profession. Parents who have devoted themselves to medicine for more than one generation want their children to follow in their footsteps and become worthy successors of the dynasty. And the value of the profession of a doctor in children will be instilled from childhood.
