Abstract
The first doctors of our region are considered to be the military, who treated workers and sailors building ships. Upon completion of the construction, the military doctors left Voronezh. The next stage of the resumption of medical activity in our region is associated with an outbreak of the plague, as a result of this, a hospital is being opened in the city. However, before the revolution, the population of the Voronezh province did not receive specialized medical care, medical personnel consisted mainly of zemstvo doctors. A great impetus in the development of regional medicine was the opening in 1931 of the medical institute, which arose on the basis of the medical faculty of VSU. The pages of the history of medicine of the city began to be filled with truly legendary names of outstanding doctors, including K.V. Fedyaevsky.

Results: He was an excellent student at school, studied at the Faculty of Medicine in Moscow, graduated from the course with honors and the title of "doctor". He came to our region in 1862, worked as a doctor in a prison castle, treated wounded soldiers from Poland, patients who were treated by him remembered not only the professionalism of the doctor, but also the kindness of this man. He received a narrow specialization of an ophthalmologist. He opened the first city hospital for outpatient care, founded a paramedic school at the hospital, constantly improved the conditions of detention and treatment of patients, conducted water supply, created a ventilation system, improved equipment, equipment in the hospital. He conducted classes at the Voronezh Theological Seminary, founded and headed the provincial Scientific Society of Doctors, simultaneously gave public lectures and in the local press, promoted the opening of two free libraries for poor citizens.
