Abstract

The article provides information on the study of the content of the products of the transformation of nitrates and nitrites in rosacea patients. The results of the study in 19 rosacea patients found that the more severe the clinical picture, the greater the change in free radicals is observed. An increase in the concentration of total nitrates and nitrites was accompanied by an increase in the severity of rosacea patients.

Rosacea is an inflammatory chronic skin disease [1]. Infectious processes contribute to the formation of rosacea. Pyoderma is considered the most common dermatosis among all skin diseases [2]. In the skin of rosacea, changes in the redox status may be observed with a decrease in the level of superoxide dismutase [3]. Sun-damaged skin includes clinical, histological and functional changes that are associated with insolation [4]. Dry skin is accompanied by hypersensitivity and increased irritability under the influence of exogenous factors [5, 6].
The purpose of the study. To study the content of nitric oxide conversion products (nitrates and nitrites) in rosacea patients.
Material and methods of research
19 rosacea patients were under our supervision. The concentration of nitrates and nitrites was determined by the spectrophotometric method on a spectrofluorimeter. The results of the research data were processed using Word, Excel (2010) programs.
Research results
The results of the study found that the more severe the clinical picture, the greater the change in free radicals is observed. In rosacea patients, an increase in the content of total nitrates and nitrites was found with a decrease in antioxidant protection. Patients with mild rosacea had significantly higher content of total nitrates and nitrites (12.5±0.7 mmol/L) than in healthy individuals (8.9± 0.5 mmol/L). At the same time, patients with rosacea of moderate severity had a significant increase in the index compared with patients of mild severity and a group of healthy individuals (15.1±0.4 mmol/l, 12.5±0.7 mmol/l and 8.9±0.5 mmol/l, respectively, p<0.05).
Conclusions.
An increase in the concentration of total nitrates and nitrites was accompanied by an increase in the severity of rosacea patients.
