Abstract

The article provides information about rosacea. We examined 19 rosacea patients in whom the concentration of ceruloplasmin was determined by spectrophotometric method. As a result of the study, it was found that the aggravation of the clinical picture of rosacea was accompanied by a decrease in the concentration of ceruloplasmin in the blood serum.

Rosacea is an inflammatory dermatosis of the face [1]. Depending on the methodology and the populations studied, the prevalence varies widely from 1% to more than 20% [2]. Adverse factors may include dry skin, which is accompanied by hypersensitivity and increased irritability under the influence of exogenous factors [3]. Rosacea is rare in children [4]. Rosacea can be complicated by pyoderma, a common dermatosis among all skin diseases [5]. It is known that environmental pollution, smoking, and excessive insolation contribute to frequent relapse. Sun-damaged skin includes all the changes associated with insolation (clinical, histological and functional) [6].

The purpose of the study. Study of ceruloplasmin content in rosacea patients.

Materials and methods of research To perform the tasks of the study, we examined 19 rosacea patients. Ceruloplasmin was determined by spectrophotometric method on a spectrofluorimeter.

The results of the research data were processed by the method of mathematical statistics.The study of the concentration of ceruloplasmin showed a significant decrease in the content of the indicator from 112.5 ± 6.7 mg/ l in patients with mild rosacea to 93.7 ±4.8 mg/ l in patients with moderate rosacea, which is significantly lower than in healthy (127.3 ± 5.1 mg/l). This state of the problem indicates a significant diagnostic criterion of oxidant activity in assessing the severity of rosacea patients.

Conclusions. The weighting of rosacea patterns was accompanied by a decrease in the concentration of ceruloplasmin in the blood serum. The antioxidant activity of blood plasma was a diagnostically significant criterion for assessing the severity of rosacea patients.
