Abstract
The study analyzed the genetic polymorphism of beta-2-adrenergic receptors and the clinical course of bronchial asthma. The study included 58 patients with bronchial asthma hospitalized in the pulmonary department of the private healthcare institution "Russian Railways-Medicine" in Voronezh in 2023-2025. As a result of the study, the value of the coding part of the ADRB2 gene was shown (replacement of 46A with 46G at the 16 amino acid position, arginine (Arg16) with glycine (Gly16) and replacement of 79S with 79G at the 27 amino acid position, glutamine (Gln27) with glutamic acid (Glu27) for the variability of the response to the conducted pharmacotherapy. The inheritance of the 46G allele of the ADRB2 gene (homozygous carriage of Gly16Gly) was associated with a phenotype of a more severe course of the disease and a high level of bronchial reactivity. Inheritance of the 79G allele (homozygous carriage of Glu27Glu) contributed to less severe manifestations of the disease. The combination of 46G variants and 79C ADRB2 gene sequence in asthma patients was a confounding factor for bronchodilator response. The isolated haplotype has prognostic significance for the prediction of the effectiveness of the course of bronchial asthma.
