Abstract

Objective: improving the efficiency of the standard therapy of cognitive impairments in elderly patients through a combination of adequate drug therapy with physiotherapy treatment (application of low-intensity laser radiation). Patient and methods - The study included 25 people. Of them 14 women and 11 men aged 65 to 75 years, average age is 67,4 years with signs of cognitive dysfunction Results and discussion - found that the elderly patients, receiving a combined therapy using low-intensity laser radiation have higher scores on neuropsychological tests in 7 months, compared with the group, correction of cognitive impairment was carried out only with the use of drug therapy. Thus, when the elderly patients administered to with the presence of cognitive deficits can be used complex therapy with the use of physiotherapeutic methods of correction that will allow not only to level of cognitive impairments, but also to reduce the dose and volume pharmacological drugs used to reduce possible toxic effects, to reduce the amount and duration of treatment.
