INVOLVEMENT OF NITRIC OXIDE IN THE MECHANISM OF RAT BRAIN DAMAGE INDUCED BY SUBCHRONIC ADMINISTRATION OF AMPHETAMINE
Abstract
The aim of the work was a studying of participation of nitric oxide (NO) and lipid peroxidation (LPO) processes in mechanisms of neurotoxic effect of amphetamine. Experiments were carried out on male Sprague-Dawley rats from vivarium of University of Innsbruck (Austria). Subchronic administration of amphetamine significantly increased the contents of NO and LPO products in striatum of rat brain. NO synthase inhibitors partially prevented the enhancement of NO generation in brain of rats induced by amphetamine. However NO synthase inhibitors had no effect on increased levels of LPO products evoked by amphetamine. The obtained data significantly expand the current understanding concerning mechanisms of neurotoxic effect of amphetamine.

EFFECT OF PRENATAL PASSIVE SMOKING FOR PATTERN OF ELECTRICAL RESPIRATORY DRIVE OF NEWBORNS RATS (IN VITRO)
Abstract
It is now established that passive smoking during pregnancy increases the frequency and duration of slip-apnea in her baby. The aim of the study was to investigate the features of the functioning of the central mechanism for the generation of respiratory activity in neonatal rats who underwent in utero effects of passive smoking. The study was performed on the brain stem (BS) of newborn rats (n = 107) under conditions in vitro. Modeling of passive smoking was carried out by fumigation cigarette smoke females from 1 to 20 days of gestation. In BS of newborn rats undergoing prenatal passive smoking duration values respiratory cycle, amplitude and duration of the inspiratory discharge were significantly lower relative to the control data. Thus was established the influence of prenatal smoking on function of the respiratory center of newborn rats.

CELL-FREE DNA IN RAT’S CEREBROSPINAL FLUID UNDER EMOTIONAL STRESS LOAD
Abstract
The levels of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) were studied in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of rats with different activity by results of open field test before and after immobilization stress. In control active rats’ group demonstrated a tendency to higher cfDNA level in comparison to passive and ambivalent ones, but we found no statistically significant differences between the groups. All experimental animals were divided into statistically significant groups with high and low total amount of CSF cfDNA. Proportions of rats with low amount of total CSF cfDNA among active and passive animals were 33 and 70%, respectively. After the emotional stress (ES) we found an inverse correlation between the changes in CSF aliquots’ volume and the changes in cfDNA concentration in stable and prone to stress animals’ groups. Our results indicate tight regulation of cfDNA levels in CSF and suggest that patterns we have identified are part of the mechanism of brain adaptation to stressful influences.

MORPHOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF NEUROPEPTIDE Y-ERGIC INNERVATION OF THE HEART IN POSTNATAL DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Neuropeptide Y (NPY)-containing fibers and intramural ganglionic neurons, as well as Y1, Y2 and Y5 receptors to NPY were detected in the myocardium of rats using immunohistochemical methods. The obtained data suggest age-dependent changes of the NPY-mediated heart innervation. The density of NPY-positive fibers was the least in newborn animals and increased in first 20 days of life. Y1, Y2 and Y5 receptors were found in the heart of newborn and more adult rats. Y1 and Y5 receptors were observed in the coronary arteries, arterioles and cardiomyocytes from the moment of birth. Density of Y2 receptors was very low in the cardiac muscle of young and adult rats but substantially increased in aged animals. All intramural ganglionic neurons were Y1 and Y5-positive and Y2-negative in the postnatal ontogenesis.

PERIPHERAL TREATMENT WITH LIGANDS DELTA-OPIOID RECEPTORS ALTERS THE LEVEL OF ANXIETY AND LOCOMOTION OF RATS
Abstract
We studied an influence of peripheral peptide ligands of delta opioid receptors on parameters of anxiety and locomotion in rats. Peripheral administration of delta opioid receptor antagonist ICE-174,864 increased the time spent by rats in the open arms of the Elevated Plus Maze. But this antagonist didn't alter a locomotor activity of rats. In the contrary, treatment with agonist DADLE produced anxiogenic effect as well as decreased locomotion activity of rats also. The obtained data allow us to consider the antagonist of delta opioid receptor ICE-174,864 as the potential anxiolytic drug with the original mechanism of action.

Abstract
The aim was to study the characteristics of central mu-opioid receptors under peripheral administration of these ligands which does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier. The study of the binding activity of the mu-opioid receptor was determined by radioligand binding assay. The opposite effect of loperamide and naloxone methiodide on density of mu-opioid receptors in the frontal cortex of rats was detected. These findings support the hypothesis on reciprocal interactions between the central and peripheral components of the endogenous opioid system

REFLEX ADAPTATION MECHANISMS OF CENTRAL HEMODYNAMICS IN ACUTE BLOOD LOSS AND HYPERBARIC OXYGENATION
Abstract
In experiments on 25 mongrel dogs studied the dynamics of changes in central hemodynamics (cardiac index and stroke work index of the left ventricle) and features bioelectric activity of afferent cardiac vagal fibers (Baas) in modeling the animals hemorrhagic shock (BP = 50/40 mm Hg. Art .) by fractional blood loss and treat their hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO). It was found that the activation of Baas after exposure to HBO was accompanied by the restoration of violated in posthemorrhagic period of blood circulation (cardiac index and normalization of myocardial contractility). The important role of hyperbaric oxygen as a factor in the mobilization of the reflex adaptive responses of the cardiovascular system in acute shortage of blood in the body is shown.

ANTIBODIES TO NEUROMEDIATORS IN NEUROCHEMICAL MECHANISMS OF BEHAVIOR AND PSYCHOEMOTIONAL STRESS
Abstract
According to theory of functional systems proposed by P.K. Anokhin and elaborated by K.V. Sudakov psychoemotional stress originates in conflict situations when living organisms are deprived in their abilities to satisfy their needs. Experimental data suggest that immune factors contribute to homeostatic load not only as antigen indicators but also as regulators of physiological functions among other well-known biologically active substances as hormones and others. Speciality of such role of immune factors and antibodies is that they regulate long lasting adaptive reactions with long periods of evolution. Our experimental data presented in paper suggest that antibodies to neuromediators which are stimulated by neuromediators with BSA conjugates immunization specifically influence hippocampal neurochemical integrity of psychoemotional stress with long lasting effect. This influence of antibodies to neuromediators is accompanied by alterations of motivational hierarchy of behavior after stress, by modifications of hormonal stress reactions and by variations of stress induced target organ reactions.

THE STUDY OF RISK FACTORS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE IN YOUNG ADULTS
Abstract
Conducted a comprehensive study aimed at studying the basic parameters of heart rate variability and the level of homocysteine in men of different nationalities. The study established the variability of vegetative regulation in the body of young men living in the Stavropol region, which is evident in the predominance of sympathetic effects on heart rate Russian students and parasympathetic - Armenian. Russian boys taking into account the complex index of activity of regulatory systems to a greater extent experience a pronounced strain and stress regulatory systems in comparison with the Armenian, with greater risk of cardiovascular disease. Homocystein metabolism to a greater extent manifest Russian boys. Metabolic disorders of homocysteine are more manifested in Russian boys.
