FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC OCCLUSIVE CONTACTS IN PATIENTS WITH DISTAL OCCLUSION OF DENTAL ROWS

Abstract

Most patients with distal occlusion of dental rows, undergoing examination, showed nonfunctional occlusive interferences before and after orthodontic treatment. In the course of orthodontic treatment the examined patients of younger age group had the number of hyper-balancing super contacts proportionally increased, which were located between the second maxillary permanent molars and mandibular permanent molars. The intensity degree of cranio-mandibular disturbances does not correlate greatly with orthodontic correction features, still it is worth noting that there is inconsiderable increase of number of patients having moderate severity degree dysfunction at the last stage of orthodontic treatment.
