A series of in vitro laboratory studies was carried out using dark and light-field microscopy and raster electron microscopy of manual simulated samples of composites by tools of various companies. It was found that on the composite layers formed by the standard tool there are deep furrows, presumably left by the rotary tool during the finishing of restoration, minor depressions are visible on a sample of the composite modeled by the Hu-Friedy tool. With increased resolution on the same samples, using a standard tool, defects in the form of furrows were found that violate the integrity of the surface structure and cohesive fractures of the composite in the pore area.
