For the last 30 years, frequency of the given pathology has increased 6 times and composes from 20 % in Moscow to 80 % in region with the low standard of living (at an average in Russia - 42 %). Frequency of IDA and iron deficiency depend upon economic conditions and production activity profiles. IDA frequency takes place at 35 to 75 % in the developing countries and at 18-20% in the developed ones. Iron deficiency conditions and IDA are accompanied by numerous pregnancy course, labor and postnatal period complications and also affect unfavorably condition of fetus and newborn being one of the course of iron deficiency development.
