Ilyushinaa N.A., Masaltsev G.V., Averianova N.S.

Abstract

Protection and Human Wellbeing, Mytishchi, Russia Glyphosate is a widely used herbicide around the world. However, the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified glyphosate as "a probable human carcinogen" (group 2A) on basis of new data on genotoxicity and carcinogenicity of glyphosate that emerged in recent years. The results of the genotoxic activity estimation of the glyphosate acid technical product in the tissues of CD-1 mice by the DNA comet method are presented in the article. It was demonstrated that glyphosate induced DNA damage in bone marrow cells at the highest dose (2000 mg/kg body weight). The effects observed in the liver cells were statistically insignificant. The obtained data indicate a weak genotoxic activity of the investigated technical product glyphosate.

FEATURES OF UNDERGROUND WATER COMPOSITION IN THE TERRITORY OF RANGE OF RYAZAN REGION REGIONS

Solovyev D.A., Dementiev A.A., Kluchnikova N.M.

Abstract

The article describes the characteristics of underground aquifers and water quality from artesian wells used for centralized drinking water supply to the population of the Ryazan region. Purpose of the study: To give a comparative description of the quality of water in underground water sources used for centralized household and drinking water supply in the areas of the Ryazan Region. Materials and methods: The material of the study was data on the quality of artesian aquifers in the Ryazan Region. The method of comparative analysis was used. Statistical processing was carried out by the method of variance analysis. Results of the research: Due to the fact that water from different aquifers is used for water supply in the regions of the Ryazan region, it seemed expedient to conduct a comparative study of the chemical composition of artesian waters in some settlements of these territories. Since the Ermeshinsky, Kadomsky and Pitelensky districts use the Podolsk-Myachkovsky aquifer, the Oka-Tarusa aquifer is used in the Mikhailovsky region, and in the Ryazhskoye, Sapozhkovsky, Sarayevsky, Skopinsky and Uholovsky districts the Ozersko-Khovansky aquifer is predominantly used comparison of water quality in these areas. The study revealed statistically significant differences in the average concentrations of iron in the water of underground sources of water supply in Ryazhsk, Sapozhok, Sarai, Skopin, Uholovo, and sulfates in Ermis, Kadom, and Pitelino. The differences in the concentration of iron (2+) can be explained by the use in the city of Skopin of the waters of the Ozersko-Khovanskii aquifer characterized by its higher content. A higher content of ammonium salts in the water of artesian wells was characterized by the Oka-Tarusa aquifer, which is located in the Ryazan Region in the Mikhailovsky District. The high content of ammonium salts in the artesian wells of the Mikhailovsky district can be related to the fact that the average depth of artesian wells in the Mikhailovsky area is on average 26 to 50 meters, which in turn can indicate the arrival of organic substances from the surface. Conclusions: Various aquifers are used in the territory of the Ryazan region. In the Ermeshinsky, Kadom and Piteleni districts, the Podolsk-Myachkovskiy aquifer is used, in the Mikhailovsky region the Oka-Tarusa aquifer is used, and in the Ryazhskoye, Sapozhkovsky, Sarayevsky, Skopinsky and Uholovsky districts, the Ozersko-Khovansky aquifer is predominantly used. In Skopin, the concentration of iron in the wells reaches 1.38 mg / l, which in accordance with GOST 2761-84 "Sources of centralized domestic drinking water supply. Hygienic, technical requirements and selection rules "indicates that this source of water supply can be attributed to the second class. The higher content of sulfates in the water in the territory of Kadomsky district can be associated with the use of the Podolsk-Myachkovsky horizon. The increased content of ammonium salts in the city of Mikhailov is associated with the use of the Oka-Tarusa horizon, which lies at shallow depths, which in turn causes a large number of wells with a depth of up to 25 meters, and this can lead to potential organic contamination from the surface.

Tatarkova Y.V., Petrova T.N., Goncharov A.Y., Kryukova O.N.

Abstract

The article analyzes the incidence of diseases of the eye and its adnexa among university students of different profiles. The analysis of the obtained data showed a negative tendency to the growth of both general and primary morbidity of eye diseases and its adnexa. In the structure of eye morbidity, the leading place in the students is occupied by refractive errors, inflammatory eye diseases, strabismus, optic nerve and retinal diseases. The growth of diseases of the eye and its adnexa is associated with a high intensification of the educational process, the introduction of computerization in classrooms, an increase in visual loads, and, possibly, an increase in the contingent of students enrolling in a university with pathology of the organ of vision. Hence, it is important to improve the ophthalmologic service, especially the primary link, which can solve the problems of prophylaxis of morbidity, and the donor diagnosis and prevention among students.

Abstract

To date, in our country, among the priority environmental problems of our time is the issue of pollution of underground and surface waters. The Voronezh region refers to territories where the problem of the quality of underground and surface water is most acute and persists for a long time. Today, despite the high level of development of environmentally friendly nanotechnologies, there is an intensive impact of human economic activity on the habitat, which results in a deterioration in the quality of human living conditions. As a result, many researchers have proved the cause and effect relationship between man-made pollution of the environment and the emergence of a number of pathologies that lead not only to a change in adaptation reactions, but also to the emergence of new, environmentally-caused diseases.

Gundarova O.P., Maslov N.V., Fyodorov V.P., Kvaratskheliya A.G.

Abstract

The authors analyze the literature and their own data on the impact of the Chernobyl radiation accident on the ecology and health of liquidators and the population. It is noted that for 30 years after the accident, the main task - to minimize damage to public health was performed. The accident at Chernobyl did not cause major changes in the status of objects of wildlife. However, over time, public concern about the consequences of the accident did not decrease, but only increased. This largely determined the long-term nature of work on the socio-psychological rehabilitation of liquidators and the population.Localization of consequences of the Chernobyl disaster was attended by more than 1,000 crew members of a military helicopter aviation. Doses of external irradiation of liquidators ranged from 0.05 to 0.5 Gy, the duration of stay in the zone with an increased level of contamination by nuclear fission products up to 10 days. In the post radiation period, the helicopter was observed a significant increase in neuropsychiatric diseases. It is connected not only with external, but also with internal irradiation, as well as with psychogenic factors and unfavorable social and hygienic living conditions of liquidators. Experimental studies on animals irradiated in doses comparable to the obtained liquidators showed the absence of significant organic changes in the brain, but at the same time a certain instability in the structural and functional organization of neurons, which under certain conditions can serve as a background for the development of pathological conditions.

Abstract

By the example of the helicopter pilots participating in liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl radiation accident it is shown that the regulated doses of ionizing radiation do not have essential influence on a brain and at external influence are not, probably, the leading cause of violations of their psychoneurological status. Diseases of liquidators are caused not so much by exposure to ionizing radiation in the range of small doses, but are the result of the impact of a complex of risk factors inherent in the Chernobyl radiation accident.
