Material and methods. An analytical review of national regulatory documents regulating the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes in the Republic of Belarus was carried out to determine the need for their correction. Results and discussion: Treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes in the Republic of Belarus is regulated by the national clinical protocol (CP). Type 2 diabetes is included in the list of diseases that give citizens the right to free provision of medicines (MP) issued by doctors' prescriptions within the List of Essential Medicines (EML) for outpatient treatment. Free provision of drugs for inpatient treatment is provided within the limits of the Republican Formulary of Medicines (RFL). The drugs included in the CP are partially not included in the EML and RFL and are not subject to state funding. Conclusions: the inclusion of drugs in the CP should contribute to the correction of restrictive lists that regulate the financing of pharmacotherapy.
