One of the most common clinical forms is community-acquired pneumonia. In the context of military operations, there is an increase in cases of severe and complicated course of communityacquired pneumonia. The purpose of the study: an analysis of the characteristics of clinical manifestations, difficulties in diagnosing and treating community-acquired severe pneumonia in participants in modern armed conflict. Materials and methods. The study included 22 patients from among the participants in the armed conflict who were admitted for treatment with a diagnosis of community-acquired severe pneumonia. During the examination of the main group, 4 patients were diagnosed with tuberculosis, one with lung cancer. The remaining 17 patients made up the main group - "community-acquired severe pneumonia" in participants in hostilities. The control group included 22 servicemen who did not take part in armed conflicts, who were treated in the pulmonary department with a similar diagnosis. Results. The course of community-acquired pneumonia in the participants in the armed conflict was distinguished by a greater volume of the lesion, a more pronounced decrease in saturation, and the frequent development of complications. There was a significant increase in acute-phase parameters, some of which were significantly higher than in the control group. Complicated course in the main group was significantly more common - in 15 people (88.2%) than in the control group - 13 people (59.1%), (p &lt;0.05). Of the complications that developed in the patients of the main group, sepsis - 29.4%, respiratory failure - 58.8%, exudative pleurisy - 41.2%, atelectasis - 17.6%, nephropathy - 11.8%. Participants in the hostilities had a significant frequency of detection of active tuberculosis, which was due to the peculiarities of the course of tuberculosis in wartime and the failure to perform a fluorographic examination when entering military service during the mobilization period and when concluding a contract.</abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>community-acquired pneumonia, armed conflicts, complications, severe course, tuberculosis</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>внебольничная пневмония, вооруженные конфликты, осложнения, тяжелое течение, туберкулез</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back/></article>
